Product details

The PoolStyle Supreme Series leaf skimmer is a hand net built on a tube frame with a nylon bag. It is the tool you reach for first, before the vacuum comes out.

Why skim first

Leaves and blossoms float for a while, then waterlog and sink. Once they are on the floor they stain the surface, feed algae and load the filter. Ten minutes with a skimmer net catches them while they are still on top, which is far less work than vacuuming them off the bottom later.

Using it

The head goes on a standard telescopic pole. Work with the net just under the surface and pull toward you rather than pushing, so debris gathers in the bag instead of being driven ahead of the frame. Rinse the net out and let it dry before storing it, since sun and chlorine are what eventually take the bag apart.
