The Rainbow R121106 is a heavy duty leaf rake from Pentair, built around a blue plastic coated mesh bag and sized to fit a standard pool pole.
A rake, not a skimmer
The deep bag is the difference. A flat skimmer net only picks up what is floating, and anything that has already sunk stays on the floor. A leaf rake is made to be dragged across the bottom, gathering leaves and larger debris into the bag as it goes, which is what you want after a storm or during leaf drop.
The mesh
Plastic coating on the mesh helps the bag shed wet debris and stand up to being pulled across pool surfaces and around steps, which is where an uncoated net starts to snag and fray.
The head fits a standard pool pole, so it drops onto the pole you already use for your brush and vacuum head.
