Product details

The Poolguard DAPT-2 is a door and gate alarm for homes with a swimming pool. It sounds when the protected door or gate is opened, which turns a silent exit into something you hear.

Why the door

Most children who drown in a pool leave the house through the back door first. A fence and a cover both help, but neither of them tells you that someone has just stepped outside. The door alarm does, and it does it before anyone reaches the water.

Listings and build

The DAPT-2 is UL listed under UL 2017 and complies with building codes. Poolguard has been building pool, door and gate alarms since 1982, and every product it makes is manufactured in the United States.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Does this meet code?
Poolguard door alarms comply with building codes and are UL listed under UL 2017. Check with your local inspector for anything specific to your jurisdiction.
Can I use it on a gate instead of a door?
Yes. The DAPT-2 is sold as a door and gate alarm, so it suits either.
Why alarm the door and not just the pool?
Because the door is where it starts. The majority of children who drown in pools go out the back door first, so an alarm on that door gives you a warning before anyone reaches the water.
Where is it made?
In the United States. Poolguard has manufactured its alarms domestically since 1982.
