Product details

The S.R. Smith PR-500 is a deck mount pool rail in 304 stainless steel, 33.14 inch in height and 55.9 inch in width, formed from tube with a 0.049 inch wall.

How it mounts

Each leg terminates in a 4 inch by 10 inch stainless steel plate that bolts flat to the deck. That is a different install from a socket mounted rail: there is no anchor to set into the concrete and no escutcheon to keep tight, which makes it the practical choice on decks where cutting for anchors is not an option.

Material and finish

304 stainless is the standard for pool deck hardware. It handles chlorinated splash, sun and freeze cycles without the pitting that shows up on lesser grades, and it stays presentable with nothing more than a wipe down.

Where it goes

At 55.9 inch wide it spans a stair entry so a swimmer has something to hold from the deck all the way down. Wet steps are the most common place people fall around a pool, and a fixed rail is the least complicated fix for it.
