The Unicel C-7605 is the 50 square foot cartridge element for the Baker-Hydro HM-50 filter. It measures 7" in outside diameter and 19-5/8" long.
How it is built
The element carries 110 pleats, which is how it holds 50 square feet of media in that size body. The top cap is an injection molded knob handle style and the bottom is an injection molded cone adapter style, so the element locates on the manifold the way the original did and gives you something to grip when lifting it out of a full tank.
Cleaning and replacing
Rinse the pleats out when pressure climbs above the clean starting point, and give the element a chemical soak once a season to clear oils and scale that a hose cannot shift. When cleaning no longer brings the pressure back down, or the pleats are torn, permanently matted or pulling away from an end cap, the element is finished.
Confirm the filter is a Baker-Hydro HM-50 and compare the element you removed, since a cartridge that is close on diameter but wrong on length or end cap style will not seal.
