The Hayward CX150XRE is the genuine replacement cartridge element for the SwimClear C150S filter. It carries 150 sq. ft. of filter area and measures 10-1/4 in. in diameter, so it drops into the C150S tank without adapters.

Why the OEM element
Hayward builds its cartridges to match its own filters, which keeps the hydraulic efficiency of the tank where it was designed to be and holds up to repeated cleaning. A cartridge filter also catches finer material than a sand bed, and there is no backwashing to send water down the drain.
When to replace
Pressure that climbs again soon after a cleaning, pleats that will not come clean, or torn or collapsed media all mean the element is done. Fitting a new one restores flow and takes the strain off the pump.
