Product details

The Hayward CX1280XREPAK4 is the genuine replacement cartridge element set for the SwimClear C5030, the 525 square foot cartridge filter. It is supplied as a pack of four, which is a full set for one filter.

Replace them together

The four elements in a SwimClear share the flow evenly, so they load up and wear at the same rate. Putting one new element in alongside three old ones does very little: the old media still restricts the flow, the pressure stays high, and the new element does not last any longer for the company it keeps. Changing the set restores the filter to its rated area.

When to change

Cartridges last through many washes, but the media eventually holds onto oils and fine debris that no rinse will move. The signal is a filter that no longer drops back to its clean starting pressure after a thorough wash, or pleats that are torn, packed flat or permanently stained. At that point cleaning is only buying days.
