Product details

The Hayward CX225XREM is the genuine 225 square foot cartridge element for the SwimClear C225SC cartridge filter. It is the single pleated element that does all the filtering in that tank, so a fresh one restores the flow and clarity the filter had when it was new.

Fits

The SwimClear C225SC and the SwimClear C200S, and the Blue Haven exclusive SmartFilter system that uses the same element. The element ships on its own; the tank, lid, lock ring and o-ring are not included.

When to replace

Hose the element down whenever the pressure gauge climbs above its clean reading. Once a good cleaning no longer brings the pressure back down, or the pleats are torn or collapsing, cleaning has done all it can and the element needs replacing. The swap needs no tools: unlatch the lid, lift out the old element and set the new one in place.

Is this the whole filter or just the cartridge?
Just the cartridge element. It replaces the pleated element inside a SwimClear C225SC tank; the tank, lid and lock ring stay in place.
Which filters take the CX225XREM?
The Hayward SwimClear C225SC, the SwimClear C200S, and the Blue Haven exclusive SmartFilter, which uses the same element.
How do I know it is time to replace it?
When a thorough hosing no longer brings the pressure gauge back to its clean reading, or the pleats are frayed, torn or collapsed, the element is done. Cleaning restores flow; only a new element restores filter area.
Does it come with the lid o-ring?
No. The o-ring and lid latch are separate parts. Check the o-ring for flat spots or cracks while the lid is off and replace it if it is worn.
