The Ultra 9000 is Air Supply of the Future part 3910131, a 1 HP spa blower running on 120 volts and drawing 6.0 amps. It is intended for OEM installs and portable spas.

The noise problem

A blower sits close to the bather and its noise travels through the spa shell as much as through the air. The Ultra 9000 answers that with a rubber motor mount, which stops motor vibration from being transmitted into the cabinet and the shell.

Why blowers fail

Most blower failures start at the intake, when a small object or a handful of debris gets pulled into the housing. The Ultra 9000 intake manifold was redesigned to prevent that, which is the single biggest change from earlier blowers.

Fitting and variants

The connection is a tapered slip fitting, so the plumbing joint is made up without glue or a clamp. What size is the fitting?
The source data is not consistent. The product name gives a 2 inch tapered slip fitting and the listing title gives 2.5 inch. Measure the connection on the blower you are replacing before you order.
Do I need glue or a clamp to connect it?
No. A tapered slip fitting is designed to seal on the taper alone, which is one less thing to cut apart at the next service.
Why would this be quieter than the blower it replaces?
Two reasons. The motor is carried on a rubber mount that soaks up vibration, and the intake manifold was redesigned as part of the Ultra 9000 update.
What usually kills a spa blower?
Debris pulled in through the intake. The Ultra 9000 intake manifold was redesigned specifically to stop small objects reaching the blower.
