Quick overview

  • 2.0 HP at 120V Rated 11.0 amps, so the circuit needs to be sized for it.
  • Quiet by design The Silencer is built around noise control rather than sound absorbing padding.
  • Rubber cup motor mount A thick rubber cup encases the fan while the motor sits on a flexible rubber base.
  • The motor floats Letting the motor vibrate freely on that base is what keeps the noise out of the housing.
  • Little foam needed The mount does the work, so almost no noise absorbing foam is required.
  • No foam to clog Blowers that rely on filter foam can choke as it loads up, which starves the motor and lets it overheat.

Product details

The Silencer from Air Supply of the Future is an air blower rated 2.0 HP at 120 volts, drawing 11.0 amps, listed under part number 6320141. It is the model built around quiet running.

How it stays quiet

The noise control is mechanical rather than added on. A thick rubber cup encases the fan, and the motor sits on a flexible rubber base that lets it vibrate freely instead of passing that vibration into the housing. The result is that the blower needs almost no noise absorbing foam to run quietly.

Why that matters over time

Plenty of blowers use filter foam to hold noise down. Foam works at first, then loads up with dust and lint. As it clogs, airflow drops, the blower starves and the motor runs hotter than it should. A design that does not lean on foam avoids that whole failure path.

Before you buy

Confirm the voltage and current your spa pack supplies. This unit is 120 volts at 11.0 amps, and blowers in this family are also built in other horsepower and voltage combinations.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What are the electrical requirements?
It is a 120 volt blower drawing 11.0 amps. Check that the circuit and the spa pack output are rated for that before wiring it in.
What makes the Silencer quieter than other blowers?
The motor mount. A thick rubber cup encases the fan while the motor sits on a flexible rubber base, so vibration is absorbed instead of being transmitted into the housing.
Does it use noise absorbing foam?
Almost none. Because the mount handles the noise, the design does not depend on foam packing.
Why does foam matter?
Blowers that use filter foam to quiet themselves can clog as the foam loads up. That restricts airflow, starves the blower and lets the motor overheat.
