Product details

CelaPool is a low dust diatomaceous earth filter media, supplied here in a 24 lbs bag. It is built on Celatom DE, which the manufacturer describes as the first choice of swimming pool professionals for pool filtration, in a patent pending low dust form.

The low dust difference

Anyone who has charged a DE filter knows the moment: the scoop goes into the bag and a cloud comes back out. CelaPool is designed around that problem. Less dust in the air means less mess on the deck, less waste out of the bag, and a job you are not dreading after every backwash.

Handling

The bag is thermally sealed, so an opened supply stores cleanly between charges instead of leaking powder into the shed. In the bucket the media blends quickly into water rather than floating on top, so the slurry pours cleanly into the skimmer.

Certification

CelaPool is NSF Certified. Use it wherever the filter calls for DE, measuring the charge weight your filter manual specifies.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Why does low dust matter?
Because charging a DE filter with ordinary powder means a cloud of it around you, on the deck and in your lungs. Low dust DE keeps the powder in the bucket and in the filter.
Is this the same as regular DE powder?
It is Celatom diatomaceous earth in a new patent pending low dust form. It goes into the filter the same way and does the same job.
Does it float on the water like some powders?
No. It is made to blend quickly into water rather than sit on the surface.
How much DE does my filter need?
That comes from the filter itself. Check the tank label or the manual for the DE charge in pounds, then measure that out from the bag after every backwash.
