What the bearing does
The fitting carries an internal bearing that is driven by the water passing through it. That is what produces the rotational movement the Convertassage jet is known for, and because it runs on flow rather than on grease, there is nothing to lubricate or service. When the bearing wears, the jet keeps passing water but the sweeping motion fades, which is usually the first sign the fitting needs replacing.
