Product details

The Hide HSL12-0.8 is a complete 12 in. square skimmer cover kit that lets you set your own deck material into the lid, so the skimmer blends into the paving instead of sitting there as a plain plastic disc. This is the 0.8 depth version, for inlay material between 5/8 in. and 7/8 in. thick, roughly 2 cm.

Choosing the depth

Hide offers the 12 in. cover in 0.4, 0.8, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.5 in. depths. Measure your paver, tile or stone and order the matching kit. This 0.8 depth is not suitable for poured concrete; if you want to match a concrete deck, use the 1.6 in., 2.0 in. or 2.5 in. kit instead.

Installation and use

The kit based range is meant to make ordering simple for a new pool or landscaping project. Once the cover is in and the material is set, it lifts out for access to the skimmer basket and goes back flush with the deck.

How do I choose the depth?
Measure the thickness of the material you will set into the cover. This 0.8 kit suits material from 5/8 in. to 7/8 in. thick. Hide makes the 12 in. cover in 0.4, 0.8, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.5 in. depths, so pick the one that matches.
Can I fill it with concrete to match a poured deck?
Not this one. Hide says the 0.8 depth is not suitable for concrete. For a concrete inlay choose the 1.6 in., 2.0 in. or 2.5 in. kit.
What is in the box?
It is sold as the complete 12 in. square Hide skimmer cover kit. You supply the inlay material from your own deck.
How does it look when finished?
The cover sits in the deck with your paver, tile or stone set into it, so the skimmer lid matches the surrounding surface instead of standing out as a round plastic disc.
