Product details

The Pentair L1 is a white skimmer lid with a thermometer built into the face. It is listed as a replacement lid for SwimQuip, Swimrite, Jacuzzi new style and Hayward® skimmers.

Why a lid thermometer

Floating thermometers drift to the far end of the pool, get carried off, and crack when the wind pins them against the wall. Putting the gauge in the skimmer lid fixes the reading in one place, at the spot you already walk past when you empty the basket.

Build

The thermometer face is hermetically sealed for strength and weather resistance, and the reading is not affected by the air temperature around it, so what you see is the water.

Before you order

Skimmer lids differ between manufacturers and between generations of the same skimmer. Measure the diameter of the lid you are replacing and compare it against the brands listed above before ordering.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Which skimmers does this lid fit?
It is listed for SwimQuip, Swimrite, Jacuzzi new style and Hayward® skimmers. Measure your existing lid before ordering, since skimmer lids vary by generation.
Does the air temperature throw the reading off?
No. The thermometer is built so that outside temperature does not affect its performance.
What color is it?
White.
Why use a lid thermometer instead of a floating one?
A floating thermometer drifts, goes missing and breaks against the wall. Building the gauge into the skimmer lid puts the reading in a fixed spot where you check the pool anyway.
