The Pentair 85000300 is the sealing frame for vinyl liner pools, in the 10 hole pattern. It is the genuine American Products part.
What it does
On a vinyl pool the liner has to be cut and clamped around the skimmer opening. The sealing frame is the plate that squeezes the liner and the gasket flat against the skimmer face, and that sandwich is the only thing keeping water on the pool side of the wall. Skimmer throats are one of the most common leak points on a vinyl pool for exactly this reason.
Before you order
Count the screw holes. This is the 10 hole version, and a 12 hole skimmer needs the 12 hole part instead. The gasket is a separate item, and since old gaskets take a set and old frames go brittle in the sun, replacing both together is the right call whenever the liner is out.
