What it does
The vacuum plate drops into the skimmer in place of the basket lid arrangement and gives the vacuum hose a sealed connection. With the plate fitted, the pump pulls through the hose rather than across the skimmer opening, which is the difference between a vacuum head that grips the floor and one that drifts around picking up nothing.
