Pentair Sta-Rite 08417-0005 is the white cover plate for the adjustable floor inlet. It is the genuine replacement part, with a 2 inch male pipe thread connection.
Where it goes
Floor inlets return filtered water upward from the pool floor rather than sideways from the wall. That pattern lifts settled debris and mixes heated and chemically treated water through the whole body instead of skimming the top.
