The Sta-Rite PKG 188 is a 2 inch by 2 inch slip union half. Both ends are slip, so it solvent welds onto rigid 2 inch PVC pipe.

It appears on Sta-Rite Dyna-Glas and Dyna-Max pumps, on the Dyna-Pro and Dyna-Pro E medium head pumps, on the Max-E-Pro series, and in the Pentair MasterTemp gas heater water system. That breadth is normal for a union half, which is a plumbing part rather than a model specific casting.

Why unions earn their place

A union at each port is what lets a pump or heater come off the pad without a saw. When a union half cracks at the threads or the pipe stub, replacing it is far cheaper than reworking the plumbing, and it keeps the next service call simple.
