Product details
The Val-Pak V20-339 is a spa return check valve eyeball with a standard 1-1/2 in. male thread. It replaces the plain return eyeball in an overflow spa and adds a one way valve behind it.
The problem it solves
In a spa that spills over into the pool, the spa sits higher than the pool. When the pump stops, water in the spa wants to run back out through the return plumbing and into the pool. A check valve in the return holds it where it belongs.
Fitting it
The valve is contained in the eyeball, so nothing has to be cut into the pipework. It threads into the existing 1-1/2 in. return fitting in place of the eyeball that is there now.
If your spa is losing level to the height of the return and no further, this fitting is the first thing to check.
