The CMP V38-141 is a universal template for lining DE filter grids up into the manifold. It fits Hayward, Pentair and Jandy DE filters.
The problem it solves
Rebuilding a DE grid pack means getting every grid port to meet its opening in the manifold at the same time. Do it by hand and grids lean, ports miss and the manifold gets drawn down onto a grid that is not seated. That cracks grids, and a cracked grid puts DE straight back into the pool through the returns.
How it is used
The template holds the grids in their spacing while the manifold comes down, so the whole pack seats square. It is a reusable tool, so it stays in the truck or on the shelf for the next filter service rather than being consumed with the job.
