Product details

The AquaStar VSJW102 is a socket and jet removal tool for pool and spa return fittings. Two hex socket sizes are formed into the end of the wrench, which is what lets one tool cover most styles of jet.

What you do with it

Two jobs. It pulls a return jet out of the wall fitting when the jet needs cleaning or replacing, and it turns the locking ring on a directional eyeball so the return can be aimed and then held there. AquaStar describes it as compatible with most major brand return fittings, so it is not tied to one manufacturer.

Why a dedicated tool

Return fittings are plastic and they are usually stiff by the time anyone tries to move them. Pliers and screwdrivers grip the outside and chew the plastic, which makes the fitting harder to seal and harder to turn the next time. The socket engages the hex the fitting was designed around and spreads the load, which is why service techs carry one.
