What the actuator does
An in-floor cleaning system does not push water through every head at once. The Q360 water valve indexes the flow from one zone to the next, and the actuator is the mechanism that drives that indexing. This o-ring seals it against the pressure inside the valve.
Symptoms of a tired seal
Water weeping at the valve, or a cycle that no longer steps cleanly through the zones. Rubber under constant pressure cycling hardens and takes a permanent set, and once it has, reassembly alone will not bring the seal back.
