What it is for

An in floor cleaning head sits flush with the pool floor by design, which leaves nothing to grip when it has to come out for service or replacement. This tool engages the head so it can be turned and lifted cleanly.

Why not improvise

Heads that are levered out with pliers, a screwdriver or a pair of channel locks usually come out damaged, and a cracked head means buying the head as well as the tool. Having the right tool on the shelf turns a routine service into a two minute job.
