The Val-Pak V22-110 is a heavy duty replacement skimmer basket for the U-3, the Hayward SP-1070 and Bermuda skimmers. It is also known as the B-9 basket.
Built to last longer than the original
Skimmer baskets fail in two ways: the handle snaps and the basket cracks around the rim. This one has a finger grip molded into the top lip instead of a separate handle, and it is a heavier moulding than a budget basket.
The weight matters
There is a weight on the outside of the base. That keeps the basket seated in the throat when the pump shuts down or when leaves and other floating debris try to lift it. A basket that floats up lets debris past into the pump pot, which is exactly what the skimmer basket is there to prevent.
Check the fit
Measurements are given so you can compare against your old basket: 8-3/8 in. at the top lip, 7-3/8 in. top inside diameter, 6-3/4 in. at the bottom. Height is 5-3/4 in. measured with the weight, or 5-3/8 in. without it.
