The Val-Pak V38-160 is the clear strainer pot lid for the older clamp style Pentair American Products Ultra Flo pump, the design used prior to 1994. Val-Pak lists it against original part number 39301600.
Check the style and the size
Ultra Flo pots changed over the years and the lids are not interchangeable. This one is the 7-3/4 inch clamp style lid. Measure across the opening and look at how your lid clamps down before you order, because a lid that is close but not right will never hold a vacuum.
Why a clear lid earns its place
Being able to see the basket tells you at a glance whether it is full and whether the pump has primed and is running full of water. A lid that has gone cloudy, crazed or brittle with sun and chemical exposure has lost that, and a cracked one leaks air, which shows up as a pump that loses prime. Fit a fresh lid o-ring at the same time.
