Product details

The Waterway 319-4100 is the new style 6 inch easy lock trap lid assembly, used on Waterway Hi-Flo, Mustang, Workhorse and Workman pumps. It replaces the old style 319-3260, and the new style is what Waterway ships now.

Easy lock

The lid locks down by hand rather than needing a tool. That matters more than it sounds, because the trap gets opened every time the basket is emptied, and a lid that is awkward to seat is a lid that eventually gets cross threaded or overtightened.

Check the o-ring too

Most trap lid complaints are really seal complaints. If the pump is losing prime, running with air in the trap or dripping at the lid, look at the o-ring for the 6 inch trap cover as well as the lid itself. That o-ring is a separate Waterway part. Replacing both at once is the usual fix on a pump that has been in service a few seasons.

Will the new style lid fit my old pump?

Yes. Waterway 319-4100 is the new style lid that replaces the old style 319-3260, and the new style is what ships now.

Does the lid come with the o-ring?

It is sold as a lid assembly. The o-ring for the 6 inch trap cover is listed separately by Waterway, so order it alongside if yours is flat, cracked or leaking.

Which pumps does it fit?

Waterway lists it for the Hi-Flo, Mustang, Workhorse and Workman pumps that use the 6 inch strainer trap.

My pump keeps losing prime. Is the lid the problem?

It often is. A lid that will not seat evenly, or a hardened o-ring under it, lets air into the suction side and the pump loses prime even though nothing is leaking water.
