This is the trap cover o-ring, part number 35505-1440Z, used on the Max-E-Pro Series, Dyna-Pro and Dyna-Pro E pumps as well as the IntelliPro VS 3050, IntelliFloXF Variable Speed and WhisperFloXF.

The seal that holds prime

The strainer pot runs under suction, so any gap at the lid pulls air rather than leaking water. That is why a worn trap cover o-ring shows up as a pump that will not stay primed, or a basket that fills with air while the pump is running, instead of as a puddle on the pad.

Service note

What size is this o-ring?

My pump will not hold prime. Is this the part?
It is the first thing to check. A trap cover o-ring that has hardened or taken a set lets air in at the lid, and the pump loses prime even though nothing else is wrong.
Can I just grease the old one?
Lubricant can buy a little time, but once the rubber has flattened into the groove or cracked, it will not seal again. Replace it.
