Why the resistant version
Everything the pump moves passes over its seals. On a salt pool, or on any system running ozone, standard seal material hardens and cracks well before the rest of the pump is worn out, and the first sign is usually a drip at the motor end or a pump that will not hold prime. This set is specified for those conditions.
Fitting
Seals go in as part of a wet end service, so plan on having the pump apart. Replace the whole set at once rather than a single piece, since the remaining original seals are the same age as the one that failed.
