Product details

The Pentair 98212200 is the replacement union nut used on American Products Maxim pumps, American Products Predator cartridge filters and Pentair EasyClean aboveground pool DE filter systems. It is the genuine Pentair part, molded in plastic like the original.

What the nut does

The union is what lets you break the plumbing at the pump or filter without cutting pipe. The nut carries all the clamping load, so it takes the wear: threads strip, the flange cracks, or a nut that has been over tightened for years finally splits. None of that is repairable, and a compromised nut will not hold the union tight enough to seal.

Before you order

This listing is the nut alone. The union C clip is a separate part, so add it if yours is missing or damaged. The seal itself comes from the union o-ring, and it is worth replacing that at the same time while the joint is open.
