The Pentair 355301Z is the genuine strainer pot lid for the Challenger and Pinnacle pumps, and for the AFP-75, AFP-120 and AFP-150 WaterFall Specialty pumps. It is the factory part, not a generic lid.
Why lids get replaced
The strainer pot lid takes sun, heat and repeated tightening. Over time it crazes, cracks or warps enough that it stops sealing. The result is usually an air leak: the pump struggles to prime, or holds prime for a while and then loses it. Since the lid is also what lets you see the basket, a clouded or damaged one hides how full the pot has become.
Order the seal with it
The lid o-ring is a separate part. If the old o-ring is flat, hard or split, replace it at the same time. A new lid on a tired seal will still pull air.
