The Pentair 355086Z is the high flow impeller used across several Pentair and Sta-Rite pump families. It is the genuine factory part.

Fitment

Pentair lists it for Challenger and Pinnacle High Flow pool and spa inground pumps, model CFII-NI-2A, and for SuperFlo and Sta-Rite SuperMax pool and spa pumps at 1-1/2 hp full rated or 2 hp up rated. One impeller carries two horsepower numbers because full rated and up rated pumps share hydraulics and differ in how they are labeled.

The source data for this part is not consistent on the full rate figure: the product name and the fitment list say 1-1/2 hp full rated, while older page copy says 1 hp full rated. Both agree on 2 hp up rated. Read the horsepower and the rating wording printed on your pump before you order.

What a worn impeller looks like

Weak returns, a filter pressure gauge sitting lower than it used to, and a pump that primes but never quite makes flow. Vanes wear thin or break, and debris packs the passages. While the pump is open, the mechanical seal behind the impeller and the diffuser o-ring are the parts worth replacing at the same time.

Is it the 1 hp or the 1.5 hp impeller?
The sources for this part are not consistent. The product name, the product detail and the fitment list all call it the 1-1/2 hp full rated, 2 hp up rated impeller, while older page copy calls it 1 hp full rated with the same 2 hp up rate. Read the horsepower and the full rate or up rate wording on your pump label before ordering.
What does up rated mean?
An up rated pump is labeled at a higher horsepower than a full rated pump of the same hydraulics. That is why one impeller carries two numbers, 1-1/2 hp full rated and 2 hp up rated.
What else should I replace while the pump is open?
The mechanical seal sits directly behind the impeller, and the diffuser and its o-ring are right there too. All of them are sold separately and are worth checking during the same teardown.
