The C105-236PC is the 1-1/2 HP impeller for the Sta-Rite Dyna-Glas and Dyna-Max Series pumps and for the Dyna-Pro and Dyna-Pro E. It is the genuine part, not an aftermarket copy.
What the impeller does
The impeller is the spinning vane set that actually moves water. Its vanes are cut for a particular horsepower, which is why the 1-1/2 HP part is a separate number from the 1 HP and 2 HP versions. Fitting the wrong one leaves the pump either starved or loading the motor harder than it should.
Symptoms and service
A tired impeller shows as weak returns and slow suction that a clean filter and an empty basket do not fix. Debris packed into the vanes does the same thing. Because the wet end has to come apart to reach it, the shaft seal assembly and the diffuser are usually replaced or at least inspected during the same job.
