Product details

The Sta-Rite C105-236P is the replacement impeller for the Dyna-Glas and Dyna-Max Series pumps and the Dyna-Pro and Dyna-Pro E. It is the factory part for that family.

Confirm the horsepower first

Impellers are matched to a specific horsepower, and the two source listings we hold for this part do not agree with each other: one calls it the 1/2 HP impeller and the other calls it 3/4 HP. Check your pump or motor nameplate and get in touch before ordering if there is any doubt. Fitting the wrong impeller for the motor either starves the pump or overloads it.

What the impeller does

All of the flow a pump produces comes from the impeller spinning inside the diffuser. When vanes wear down, break, or pack with debris, the symptoms look like a system problem: weak returns, a skimmer that no longer pulls, and a filter that never reaches normal pressure.

While the pump is apart

The impeller threads onto the motor shaft, so changing it means splitting the pump. That is the moment to fit a new shaft seal, since the old one rarely reseals once it has been disturbed. Look at the diffuser face as well, because a worn diffuser against a new impeller gives back only part of the flow you were expecting.
