The Sta-Rite U178-920P is a 1/4 inch drain plug supplied with its o-ring, used across a wide range of Sta-Rite pumps, valves and heater water systems.
The o-ring is the part that matters
The plug body is simple, but the o-ring is what actually seals against the housing. It gets compressed and released every time the plug comes out, which on most pools is at least twice a year for winterizing and opening. After enough cycles the ring takes a permanent set or cracks, and the plug that used to seal by hand suddenly weeps no matter how hard it is tightened. Buying the plug with the o-ring removes the guesswork.
