Product details

The Sta-Rite U9-228A is the seal plate o-ring listed for the Pinnacle pump. It is the genuine Sta-Rite part.

Where it sits

The seal plate carries the shaft seal and bolts up against the pump body. This o-ring is the joint between the two. It is out of sight and out of mind until the pump starts weeping from the middle of the wet end, at which point it is usually either this o-ring or the shaft seal behind it.

Change it with the seal

Once the seal plate has come off, put a new o-ring back. A ring that has spent years compressed in a groove has taken a permanent set and will not seal the same way twice. Give it a coat of silicone o-ring lubricant so it seats evenly rather than rolling or pinching as the pump is drawn back together.

Which pumps does this o-ring fit?
