The Pentair 355318Z is the genuine OEM strainer basket for Challenger pumps, including the hi head and high flow models. It is a molded plastic basket measuring 5-3/8 inches wide and 6-3/4 inches tall.

What the basket does

Everything the skimmer misses ends up here. The basket is the last thing standing between leaves, twigs and grit and the impeller, so a basket that has cracked, split or collapsed is not a cosmetic problem. Debris that gets past it lodges in the impeller and turns a five dollar part into a service call.
