Why lids get replaced
It is the part of the pump that gets handled most: off for every basket clean, back on and tightened again. Sun and pool chemicals slowly make the plastic brittle, and a lid that has crazed or cracked will not hold a seal. That shows up as a pump that struggles to prime, or a basket with air sitting in the top of it while the pump runs.
Fitting
