The Hayward SPX1500D2A is the OEM clear strainer cover lid, supplied with a replacement lid o-ring. It is listed for the Hayward Power-Flo and Turbo-Flo pump families.
Why the o-ring comes with it
A strainer lid and its o-ring wear together. The lid clouds and eventually crazes from sun and chemical exposure, and the ring flattens and hardens in the same period. Replacing one without the other tends to produce a second service call, so this part is sold as the pair.
Fit
It is listed for the Power-Flo SP1500 series, Power-Flo LX, Power-Flo II and III in the SP1700 and SP1700UN models, and the Turbo-Flo SP2075 and SP2175. It is also listed against the Leslie's Hydramax above ground pumps in models SP-LE40022 through SP-LE40026.
Getting a good seal
The lid seals on the suction side of the pump, so a poor seal draws air rather than leaking water. Wipe the pot rim and the underside of the lid clean, seat the new o-ring without twisting it, use a silicone based o-ring lubricant, and hand tighten. Cranking a plastic lid down hard distorts it and makes the seal worse, not better.
