Product details

The Hayward SPX1500CAP is the genuine strainer housing, supplied with its basket, for the Power-Flo line of above ground pool pumps. It replaces the pot on the Power-Flo SP1500 series, the Power-Flo LX SP1580 series and the Power-Flo II SP1700 and SP1700UN, and also fits the Turbo-Flo SP2075 and SP2175 and the Leslie's Hydramax above ground pumps.

Confirm the fit

Hayward stamps SP-1515 into the side of this housing. If you cannot read the stamp on yours, measure it: the pot is 5-5/8 in. inside diameter, 6-1/8 in. across the outside measured inside the notches and 6-1/2 in. measured across the notches.

What is and is not included

You get the plastic housing and the basket. The clear strainer cover, its o-ring and the housing o-ring are separate parts, so check them while the pump is apart and replace anything that is cracked or flattened. A little silicone lubricant on the o-rings makes reassembly easier and keeps the lid from pulling air.

Which pumps does it fit?

How do I confirm it matches my housing?
Look for SP-1515 stamped into the side of your existing housing, and measure the pot: 5-5/8 in. inside diameter, 6-1/8 in. across the outside inside the notches and 6-1/2 in. across the notches.
Does the basket come with it?
Yes. The part is the strainer housing with the basket installed.
Does it include the lid and lid o-ring?
No. The strainer cover lid and its o-ring are separate parts. Order them at the same time if yours are cracked or the o-ring is flattened.
