Product details

Hayward SPX5500A is the pump housing for the Power-Flo Matrix SP1590 series pump. It is the genuine Hayward part, molded in plastic like the original.

When you need one

The housing is the wet end body that holds the water, and it is the part that suffers when a pump freezes, is over tightened, or takes a knock. A cracked or split housing cannot be patched with any confidence, because the crack is under pressure every time the pump runs. Replacing the body lets you keep the motor, the impeller and the rest of the hardware.

Before you order

Check the model on the pump label reads SP1590 and match part number SPX5500A. While the pump is apart, look over every seal and o-ring that comes off, since those are cheap to renew and awkward to reach once the pump is back together.
