Product details
The Hayward SPX1500S8 is the on/off rocker switch for the PowerFlo Matrix pool pump. It is the genuine Hayward replacement.
Why switches fail
The rocker is the one part of the pump a homeowner touches constantly, and it sits outdoors in heat, damp and dust. Contacts pit, springs weaken, and moisture works its way in. A switch that has to be wiggled to make the pump start, or that has stopped working altogether, is at the end of its life.
Before you condemn the motor
A PowerFlo Matrix that is dead at the switch is a much cheaper problem than a dead motor, and the two look identical from the deck. If the cord is live and pressing the rocker does nothing, with no hum and no heat from the motor, the switch is the place to start. Kill power at the breaker before opening anything up, and get help if wiring is not something you are set up to do.
