Product details

PKG 188Z is the Pentair half union kit with a 2 inch slip connection. The socket end solvent welds to 2 inch PVC and the union nut carries the joint at the pump port.

Where it goes

Pentair lists this kit for the IntelliPro variable speed pump built before 2019, the Max-E-Pro series, the Dyna-Pro and Dyna-Pro E, and the Dyna-Wave series. Unions are the reason a pump can be pulled for service without a saw, so a cracked nut or a weeping joint is worth fixing properly rather than sealing over.

Before you order

This is the half union package. Most pumps have a union at each port, so decide whether you are replacing one side or both. The same part number turns up under the Sta-Rite name in some catalogs, and the part number is the thing to match.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size is this union?
A 2 inch slip connection, so it solvent welds to 2 inch PVC.
Which pumps does it fit?
It is listed for the IntelliPro variable speed pump built before 2019, the Max-E-Pro series, Dyna-Pro and Dyna-Pro E, and the Dyna-Wave series.
Is this one union or a pair?
It is sold as the half union package. A pump normally carries a union at the suction port and another at the discharge, so count what your job needs before ordering.
Some listings show this under the Sta-Rite name. Is it the same part?
The same part number, PKG 188Z, appears under both names. Match the part number rather than the brand on the label.
