The S.R. Smith CH-SP-9999-01 is the RecordQuest single post starting platform with anchor and no strobe, a competition starting block with a 24 by 32 in. footboard on a powder coated 304 stainless steel frame.

How it is built

The footboard is 24 in. wide by 32 in. deep, with a gel coated outer surface and S.R. Smith's SureFoot non-slip tread. The frame is 2.5 in. square 304 stainless steel tubing, powder coated for added corrosion resistance. S.R. Smith lists the RecordQuest as meeting FINA, NCAA, NFSHSA, USMS and USAS competition pool rules.

Fit on the deck

The RecordQuest Standard sets back 21 to 26 in. from the anchor and stands 17 to 29.5 in. from the deck edge to the top front edge of the platform, with one or two steps depending on setback and height. S.R. Smith matches the platform to the deck to water level dimension of the pool, so take that measurement before ordering. Pools with wide or parapet gutters are better served by the RecordQuest Long Reach, CHLR1-9999-01, which sets back 30 to 40 in.

The anchor

The RockSolid anchor is welded 304 stainless steel. Its adjustable wedge expands against the post and keeps even pressure on it, which stops the platform rocking and gives swimmers more consistent starts. It has a grounding lug and a cap that covers the anchor when the platform comes out, and S.R. Smith calls for its 27-109 anchor set tool to install it. The platform ships by freight.

Yes. S.R. Smith part CH-SP-9999-01 is the RecordQuest with anchor and no strobe, paired with the RockSolid single post anchor. S.R. Smith adds an A to the end of the part number when a RecordQuest is ordered without an anchor.
Does this RecordQuest starting platform have strobe lights?
No. The CH-SP-9999-01 is the no strobe RecordQuest. S.R. Smith lists the 1 strobe version as CH-SP-9999-11 and the 2 strobe version as CH-SP-9999-21, with strobe wiring and the interface box ordered separately.
