Product details

The S.R. Smith BLCVR-1317-WHT is a domed acrylic safety cover for starting blocks. It fits over the block so the platform is no longer a surface anyone can dive or jump from.

When it goes on

Starting blocks belong to supervised competitive swimming. The problem is that they stay bolted to the deck the rest of the time, in front of open swim sessions and unsupervised hours, and a block invites exactly the behavior a shallow end cannot take. A no dive cover is how facilities take the block out of service between practices without unbolting anything.

What does this cover actually do?
It fits over the starting block and domes the top, so the block no longer offers a flat platform to dive or jump from.
Why would a facility need one?
Starting blocks are built for supervised competitive use. During open swim or when the deck is unsupervised they become an obvious hazard, and a no dive cover is the standard way to take them out of service without removing them.
