This is the Poolvergnuegen tune-up kit for the 2-wheel Pool Cleaner, part number 896584000-426. It contains two tires, six vanes and eight skirts.

The three parts that wear

A suction side cleaner is a simple machine with three consumables. The tires give it grip, so worn ones let it spin instead of climbing. The vanes are what the water pushes against inside the turbine, so worn vanes take away drive. The skirts seal the body to the pool surface, and a torn or curled skirt bleeds off the suction that holds the cleaner down. All three go at roughly the same rate, which is why they are sold together.

When to fit it

The usual sign is a cleaner that has quietly slowed, stopped climbing walls, or started leaving sections of the pool untouched. Before assuming a pump or plumbing fault, look at the tires and skirts. Fitting the kit puts a worn cleaner back to how it ran when it was new, for a fraction of a replacement.
