Product details

The Polaris G62 is the genuine complete back-up valve kit in black for the 280, 380 and 480 BlackMax pressure cleaners. It fits inline on the feed hose and is the part that keeps the cleaner from parking itself in a corner.

How it works

About every 3 minutes the valve opens for about 30 seconds. The jet of water pulls the cleaner backward, freeing it from steps, corners and tight spots and sending it off in a new direction. That regular reversing is what gives the cleaner full coverage of the pool.

When to replace it

If the cleaner gets stuck and stays there, or you never see it back up, the valve has usually stopped cycling. The G62 is the whole assembly, so it swaps in without rebuilding the old one. The feed hose itself is sold separately.

Which cleaners does it fit?
The Polaris 280, 380 and 480 in the BlackMax version. This is the black kit.
What does the back-up valve do?
About every 3 minutes it opens for about 30 seconds, pulling the cleaner backward. That changes its direction and frees it if it has wedged in a corner or on a step.
How do I know mine has failed?
A cleaner that gets stuck and stays stuck, or never reverses, usually points to a back-up valve that is no longer cycling.
Does it include the feed hose?
No. This is the back-up valve kit only. The complete feed hose kit without the back-up valve is listed separately.
