Product details

The Polaris C18 is the genuine replacement track tire for the 280 TankTrax pool cleaner. It is supplied as the tire on its own.

What traction does for the cleaner

The TankTrax drives on its tracks, and the pattern the cleaner follows depends on all of them gripping evenly. Once a tire glazes over, thins out or tears, that side slips. The result looks like a steering problem: the cleaner circles, climbs poorly, hangs on the same step or leaves whole sections untouched. Replacing worn tires is usually cheaper and faster than chasing the symptom anywhere else.

Before you order

Confirm you have the TankTrax version of the 280 rather than the standard wheeled model, and count how many tires are actually worn. They are sold one at a time, and it is normal to change more than one at once so the cleaner tracks evenly.

Related wear parts

Track tires sit on axle and idler hardware that wears at a similar rate. If a tire has been running loose or noisy, inspect the axle blocks, the idler wheel and the bearings while everything is apart.

Does this fit a standard Polaris 280?
It is listed for the 280 TankTrax. The TankTrax uses a track system rather than the standard 280 wheels, so check which version you have before ordering.
Does the wheel come with it?
No. Polaris C18 is the track tire only. The axle blocks, idler wheel, swing axle kit and bearings are all separate parts.
How many do I need?
That depends on how many are worn. They are sold individually, so count the tires that are glazed, torn or thin before you order.
Why is my cleaner going in circles or stalling?
Uneven traction is a common cause. If one track tire is worn smooth and the others still have surface, the cleaner drives crooked and can hang up on the same section of pool.
