Ecomatic systems take one of two cells, and the model on the power supply tells you which. The ESC16 takes cell M0656USA. The ESC24, ESC36 and ESC48 all share one cell, M0657USA, which is also the cell inside the ESC7000, ESC8000 and ESC9000. The original M0657USA is here, along with cross brand replacements for both, some as a complete cell in a clear housing and one as the bare electrode.

About Ecomatic Salt Cells

The original Eco-Matic cell for the ESC24, ESC36 and ESC48, CompuPool cells for those and for the ESC16, and a CaliMar electrode.

Questions about Ecomatic Salt Cells

Do the Ecomatic ESC24, ESC36 and ESC48 use the same cell?

Yes. All three take M0657USA. The original cell is listed for the ESC24, ESC36 and ESC48 together, and the cross brand cells on this page say the same thing in their own words. The cell is common to all three. So if you know you have one of those three, you do not need to work out which before ordering.

Which cell fits an Ecomatic ESC16?

The ESC16 is the odd one out and takes cell M0656USA. The replacement here is a CompuPool cell made for that model, with a clear outer housing so the electrodes can be checked through the body. It is listed for the ESC16 alone, and the M0657USA cells on this page are listed for the larger three, so this is the one Ecomatic model where the number on the power supply has to be read before anything else.

Is an Ecomatic replacement an electrode or a whole cell?

Both kinds are here. The CaliMar part is the electrode only, thirteen titanium blades rated to 54,000 gallons, and its listing says the cell housing and cord are sold separately, so it suits a system whose housing is still good. The CompuPool cells are complete, in a clear housing, and made to sit in the original plumbing. The original Eco-Matic cell comes with its blades and uses reverse polarity to keep them clean.

Is an ESC7000 the same as an ESC24?

For the cell, yes. The original cell's listing pairs the names off: ESC24 with ESC7000, ESC36 with ESC8000 and ESC48 with ESC9000. The CaliMar electrode repeats it, saying it is also used in the ESC7000, ESC8000 and ESC9000. So a unit carrying either style of number takes M0657USA, and you can order by whichever one is still legible on yours.
