IntelliChlor cells are named for the pool they treat: IC20 for 20,000 gallons, IC40 for 40,000 and IC60 for 60,000. The newer Plus and LT cells sit beside them, and their listings say which older cell each one takes over from: the Plus40 replaces the IC40 at the same length, and the LT25 replaces the IC20 and the iChlor 30. Every one of them is a cell only. It needs an IntelliChlor power center on the wall, so a first install wants one of those as well.

Original IntelliChlor cells from 20,000 to 60,000 gallons, the Plus and LT cells that succeed them, and CaliMar cells made to be compatible with the IC20, IC40 and IC60P. The IC40 and its replacements have a page of their own. Flow switches, unions and boards are in Pentair IntelliChlor parts.
Cells for other systems: Hayward, Jandy and Zodiac, AutoPilot, CompuPool, Solaxx, CaliMar and Ecomatic. Every cell we carry is on salt cells, power centers and complete systems are under salt chlorine generators, and unions, cords, sensors and boards are in salt system parts.
What is the difference between IntelliChlor IC, Plus and LT cells?
They are three families of cell. IC20, IC40 and IC60 are the originals. The Plus cells come in 30,000, 40,000 and 60,000 gallon sizes, and the Plus40 listing describes an LCD and LED display with more than twenty diagnostics and a redesigned conductivity sensor for salt. The LT25 is a 25,000 gallon cell that makes 0.90 lb of chlorine a day at full output. The listings spell out the handover: Plus40 for IC40, LT25 for IC20 and iChlor 30.
Which power center do IntelliChlor cells need for a new install?
The one the newer cells name is part number EC-520556. Both the Plus40 and the LT25 say they run on an existing IntelliChlor power center and that a new installation needs that one. Its own listing gives the compatible cells as IC20, IC40, IC60, LT25 and Plus40, runs on 110 or 220 volts and includes the power cable. It is filed with the generators, not on this page, because it is the half of the system that is not a cell.
Will an IntelliChlor cell work with EasyTouch or IntelliTouch?
Those are the two automation systems the listings keep naming. The IC60 gives IntelliTouch, EasyTouch and SunTouch; the Plus40 and the LT25 both give EasyTouch and IntelliTouch. The power center adds IntelliCenter to that list. So a pool already run by one of those controllers can have the cell tied into it, and a pool without one runs the cell from its own buttons.
How do I see how much life an IntelliChlor cell has left?
The cell tells you. The IC60 listing describes diagnostics that show cell life in hours along with salt level, how clean the cell is, sanitizer output and water flow, and it shuts itself off when the water is too cold. The Plus40 goes further with a display carrying more than twenty diagnostics and warnings. Read the hours before ordering: a cell that has stopped producing with hours still on the counter is more likely scaled or short of salt than finished.
