CaliMar Replacement Salt Cell Compatible with IntelliChlor IC40, 40K Gallons, CMARCIC40-1Y

The CaliMar CMARCIC40-1Y is a replacement salt cell built to work in place of the Pentair IntelliChlor IC40. It is rated for pools up to 40,000 gallons and carries a 1 year warranty. CaliMar is not affiliated with Pentair; the IntelliChlor and IC40 names are used only to identify which system the cell fits.

What the cell does

Flow detection, salinity and water temperature sensors are built into the cell, so it reads its own conditions and reports them on the digital display. Chlorine output is adjustable, there is a super chlorination mode for shocking, and a cell failed indicator tells you when the plates are done rather than leaving you to guess from a green pool.

Self cleaning

The cell reverses polarity on a schedule, which sheds calcium scale from the plates. That keeps output steady between inspections and cuts down on acid cleaning.

Salt level

Run the pool at 3000 to 4000 PPM. Below that range output drops and the cell works harder for the same chlorine; above it the system may flag high salt.
